Food Security and Livelihood (FSL)

From its basic definition, food security is an internationally recognized term that encompasses the ready availability of nutritionally adequate and safe foods, and the assured ability to acquire personally acceptable foods in a socially acceptable way (Russell et al 1999).

Health & Nutrition Programme

LCAD is working hard to provide adequate health and nutrition which are essential for the healthy development of children. Families affected by illness may not be able to work or provide proper care. Children in these situations are at risk of dropping out of school in order to care for a sick adult and work in order to replace lost income.

Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH)

In partnership with WASH Partners and in accordance to SPHERE gridlines and humanitarian principles, LCAD implement WASH projects through WASH project pipelines by; Targeting the households as primary target identified for nutrition support to be screened for Water and Soap access and supported with NFI to support the development of hygiene barriers for the faecal oral route.

Building Climate Resilience

For LCAD to response to any events related to climate factor, this will involves all actors (governments, communities, UN agencies, NGOs, private sectors etc) having the capacity to anticipate climate risks and hazards, absorb shocks and stresses, and reshape and transform development pathways in the longer and shorter term.

Education

In according to minimum standards for education, LCAD implements education projects which help increase access to safe and relevant learning opportunities for all learners for basic education regardless of their age, gender or abilities; and ensure accountability and strong coordination in the provision of education in emergencies through recovery.

Protection (Area of Responsibility (AoR) & Gender-Based Violence (GBV))

Ensuring gender equality in access to services, resources and protection measures demonstrates the principle of humanitarian impartiality in practice and helps to ensure that assistance is provided based on needs.

Civic Engagement for Sustainable Peace and Democracy

LCAD promotes citizen-led transformation of both public and private institutions, policies and processes that limit or block people’s participation in the social, economic and political decisions that affect their lives.
